Effect of SACHIL-TANG on the Plasma and Uterus Changes of Rats in Immobilization Stress

Abstract
Background and Objectives: SACHIL-TANG has been known as anti-stress medicine. The aim of this study is to investigate plasma cathecolamines, glycoconjugates(GC) and oncogenes of uterine endometrium, and the effects of SACHIL-TANG on the rats in immobilization stress. Materials and Methods: Sprague-Dawley female rats were divided into 3 groups. The normal group(NG) was 8 healthy rats. The control group(CG) was 24 rats in stress condition. The experimental group(SCT) was in stress condition but medicated with SACHIL-TANG. CG and SCT were subdivided into 3 subgroups respectively. Thus, the number of each group was 8. And then, the plasma and uterine endometria were checked in 5, 10, and 15 days. The endometria were treated with histo-chemical reaction for examination of GC. The .oncogenes were examined by immunoreaction. Results: 1) Plasma cathecolamines: Plasma epinephrine(EP), norepinephrine(NE) and dopamine of SCT were decreased as compared with CG (EP & NE; p<0.005, dopamine; p<0.05) 2) GC of uterine endometrium: Neutral and acid GC of CG were decreased as compared with NG, but recovered in SCT. In SBA reaction, the result was the same as those of Neutral and acid GC. 3) Oncogene products: C-fos in CG was decreased as compared with NG, but recovered in SCT. In contrast, c-jun in CG was increased as compared with NG, but recovered in SCT. Conclusion: SACHIL-TANG showed anti-stress effect on uterine endometria of the rats. Therefore, SACHIL-TANG can be good for uterine diseases caused by stress.
